At Prairie Song Rescue, our mission is simple but powerful:

Every day, countless animals are abandoned, neglected or left to suffer alone. Some are tied to fence posts in the freezing wind. Some are left behind when their families move. Others are simply forgotten. Some never had a home at all.
We are known for taking in animals that no one else will help.
But we choose to say YES.
Now, we’re asking you to stand with us as we take the next vital step:

WHY WE NEED A SHELTER
Currently, we operate out of our own home and through a network of devoted foster homes and volunteers. While this has helped us rescue hundreds of animals, the limitations are clear:
- We lack a central intake facility for emergency rescues
- Medical treatment and quarantine space are limited and costly
- More animals are in need than we can house or support
- We are strapped to the max working our many large hoarding case
- Sometimes we have to say no to vital
community outreach & education - Medical treatment space is very limited
- Adoptions are harder without a central facility
- We turn away animals weekly—simply due to lack of space & resources
We already take overflow from our local shelter & from many of the tribal lands in dire need. A physical shelter will provide a safe, fully equipped space where animals can receive medical care, rehabilitation and love while awaiting their furever families. The animals in need far outweigh the resources available.
A facility at Prairie Song is the answer, a dedicated space to be the foundation of a future where no animal is left behind.

Prairie Song Rescue’s first-ever shelter will be a safe, sustainable facility in Montana where animals in crisis can find immediate refuge and long-term care. A space that will save lives for decades to come.

- Construction and furnishing of a modern, climate-controlled shelter
- Quarantine, emergency and special needs facilities
- Veterinary treatment and recovery areas
- Heated dog kennels, cat cottages, exotics space and livestock stalls
- Secure outdoor runs and enrichment areas
- Community growth and healing spaces
This isn’t just a shelter. It’s a second chance—for thousands.
